Solstice Thoughts

Solstice Thoughts

Friends,

We have just passed the winter solstice: a specific moment in time, when we are given a glimpse of hope with more light daily. Sure, we have festivities of the holidays that overshadow an otherwise dark and cold season. The beauty of being a BBQ restaurant and caterer is that you don’t need a calendar to know where you are in the season. From Thanksgiving, with families sharing our turkeys, and then launching straight into holiday celebrations. We cherish the chance to share the warmth of the season with customers, and serve the gift of their favorite BBQ, with friends and family, near or far.

The solstice commemorates the sun’s position, as that turning point that announces hope, which we all need. It cries for us to stick our head out from the kitchen, stick our head out from the smoker room, from the office or from the car and yell “WAHOO! THERE’S LIGHT AHEAD!”

You know, this stands as a metaphor for our journey here at Crazy Good Eats.

From a family start-up, to an established (well, going on 5 years in the restaurant business says something), local BBQ favorite. We can’t thank you enough for all you have done to help us build this expanding family!

We have shared some thoughts of things to come at CGE BBQ, and many of you expressed excitement. So, under the wraps of this season of darkness, we are embarking on building a new, full bar featuring some interesting whiskeys, local brews, and more. We are planning and preparing Dine-In Specials like a smoked, double cut Pork Chop, Saturday night Prime Rib, a casual Saturday Breakfast and Sunday Brunch. Hopefully you will accept our invitation to enjoy these new options, and spend more time hanging out with us.

We know you have a life that’s busy, so you can’t always hang out, So, we will introduce an online ordering application, and make the drive thru available for ordering as well as for pre-orders.

Not to dampen all the excitement, but while the sun is short, the days will remain long as we bring these changes to life. So, thank you to all our valued employees on the Crazy Good Eats Team that work so hard to make all your experiences the best they can be, every day! We appreciate your efforts and your contributions to make this vision a reality.

Finally, let’s not forget what’s really important: We care about family, our customers as they become family, childrens’ causes like; Bradens’s Hope, KidsTLC, children and their schools, and their dedicated educators. We appreciate being able to bring a smile to those first responders who dine with us, and we thank all first responders for their dedicated service.

So, we take in the majesty of solstice, as we welcome the light back in, and embrace hope daily!

Cheers and Happy New Year!

  1. I’m so excited for the new changes you have coming. Your family has been there for our family in the happiest and saddest times of our lives. You let us take over your dining room for a rehearsal dinner and provided a wonderful spread for our friends and family. And you were also there to provide a meal after my granddaughters funeral. We feel so lucky to have such great friends.
